Academic Advising
Academic Advising provides guidance to ensure students are on track to achieving their educational goals at SWIC. Degree-seeking students are required to meet with an advisor if enrolling in classes for the first time.
How Advising Works at SWIC
Once registered with the college, each student is assigned an advisor based on their chosen academic program. The advisor’s name and email can be found on the Student Center page in .
Students will then make an appointment with their designated advisor to meet at a specific time.
Advisors can assist with the following:
- Help register for classes
- Update degree/certificate plans
- Program applications (Nursing, Rad Tech, etc.)
- Transfer questions
- 30-hour academic review
- Graduation status
What to bring to your Advising appointment:
- Photo ID (Driver’s License or other)
- Test and/or Placement scores
- HS and/or College transcripts
- Questions!
